I don't see any legit reason for a publisher to make an exclusive unless they are paid off or if porting the game is unreasonable (from a time or technical standpoint), something that Mega Man 9 most certainly isn't. It is free money.2. The developer should be interested in getting its product on as many systems as possible to build its name and in some cases its royalties it may gain from the publisher(unless the game sucks, doubtful on this one).3. On the player side it really don't make much sense either unless it is fueled by some fanboy dreams or something. I may not be the biggest fan of the Wii but I would feel the same way if it was a 360 exclusive. I am an exception owning all three consoles. Most people don't own but one if that, it is stupid and selfish for fanboys to want to keep others from playing a game they might enjoy just to build their ego about their purchase. In the end it makes no sense to anybody except to the platform publisher/developer. They really are the only one that benefits. It is better for everybody else involved to just make it multiplatform. This game has brand power, it will sell on any and all platforms, hell I even think it should be ported to the DS and PSP, it isn't like they can't handle it either.

Exclusives are silly anyways.

1. You get downloads for five systems so you would have to be on your 6th ps3 before it would be a problem. Though with MS's new transfer kit it might not be much worse with them since you can do a license transfer once every 12 months. I have already had to deal with Nintendo and getting the licenses tranfered from one Wii console to another. It isn't fun. It shows the problem with the idea of attaching the DRM to a system instead of a user. Nothing is portable at all.

I just like the fact that with PS3 it is not tied to the console per say but to an account much like the 360. Though with MS's new transfer kit it might not be much worse with them since you can do a license transfer once every 12 months.
