See you this summer, Captain Rainbow

The Nintendo Channel is the source for Nintendo news in Japan. An announcement trailer appeared like a bolt of blue for Captain Rainbow yesterday. Catherine, who appears to be a Birdo, explains Nick, the protagonist wearing a Hawaiian shirt, washes ashore on an island. Nick becomes Captain Rainbow and gains powers like wall breaking punches, comic book style. While the brief gameplay segments suggest Captain Rainbow is a 3D action game there isn’t much to see. We should know more soon since Captain Rainbow is scheduled to come out this summer in Japan.

The other odd note about Captain Rainbow is the game is rated CERO B. Usually, Nintendo published games in Japan are designed to be CERO A, the equivalent of being “E for Everyone”. There are recent exceptions like Metroid Prime 3: Corruption and Battalion Wars, but both of these were Western developed games. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is one of the few, and the only game in recent memory developed internally at Nintendo, with a CERO B rating.

    Looks real fun and full of unique weird ideas.

    It's so weird Nintendo games always use these made-up languages, like Giftpia and Chibi Robo.. it's fun at first but kind of gets annoying after a while.

    @Aoshi00 He's speaking clear Japanese here.

    How easy to read, it uses furigana. I haven't seen that in a game in ages.

    @Jay

    It sounded like jibberish to me. None of the audio matches up with the text at all which, yes I can read to a certain extent. That being said this is good. It shows to me that they are seriously thinking about bringing it out here since none of the audio would have to be recorded again. After all jibberish is jibberish in any language.

    @Jay - As Daizyujin said it's gibberish, some phrases might have sounded like it. I speak Japanese and this is not Japanese :)

    Again, I think a made up Sims-like language sounds fun at first, but if you're forced to hear it thruout the entire game it gets annoying.
