Star Ocean remakes seeing an international release (update)

Back in April this was a rumor, but you knew Square Enix would pull through. Star Ocean: First Departure and Star Ocean: Second Evolution will eventually come out in North America since both games will be at their E3 booth. These games are respective remakes/ports of Star Ocean 1 (Super Famicom) and Star Ocean 2 (PSX). If you want to know more about the PSP Star Ocean games, check out our previous coverage. Update: Square Enix USA sent a release date list confirming what Al said in the comments. Star Ocean: First Departure will come out on October 21 and we'll see Star Ocean: Second Evolution on January 6, 2009. Here's what else Square Enix has scheduled for this year.

Final Fantasy IV (DS) - July 22
Infinite Undiscovery (X360) - September 2
Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen (DS) - September 16
Exit DS - October 7
The Legend of Kage 2 - October 7
Star Ocean: First Departure (PSP) - October 21
Chrono Trigger (DS) - Holiday 2008
The Last Remnant (X360) - "This Winter" i.e. could be 2009
Star Ocean: Second Evolution (PSP) - January 6
Star Ocean: The Last Hope (X360) - 2009

OMG yay! I really loved both of these games so much on the Super Famicom and PSone respectively. Now I get beautiful remakes/ports! EEE, Leon. I am so fan-girly right now sorry.

Expected this due to the rumours, will be good to get hold of the past games too alongside with number 3 which I really liked..

Played only the first game only a little, but the revised battle system seems to be more enganging than the originals battle system..
