Aksys has more plans with Million, looking into Cave

sdb.jpgLiked Super Dodgeball Brawlers (pictured)? The game was developed by Million who purchased the rights to the Kunio-Kun series after Technos fell into financial ruin. Aksys confirmed at their Anime Expo panel another project with the developer is in the pipeline. No details were given if it will be a new Kunio-Kun game, anything to do with Double Dragon (Million owns those rights too), or if it’s something entirely new.

Aksys also teased the possibility of publishing Cave shmups in North America with a short “we’re looking into it statement.” The statement is so vague that I wouldn’t even consider it a rumor at this point. Thought of seeing Ketsui or DoDonPachi Daioujou Black Label X is tantalizing.

I liked Super Dodgeball Brawlers on the DS, even if it was hard to pull off a jump shots And there was really no difference between easy and hard settings. I would welcome a sequel if there was a dedicated jump button.

The 5bp 360 Cave ports would be excellent, but why skip Shikigami 360 then? They should look into Arika’s Ketsui DS experiment too.

If they ever publish Cave SHMUPs in the US, you can thank my incessant nagging on their forums for that.

Even though I already own Arika’s PS2 ports, I would buy them again if Aksys brought them over.

Hell, I would probably even buy either of Cave’s ports — since I’d kind of LIKE to try Mushihime-sama, but am unwilling to pay $90-some for it.
