With all the buzz about E3, it's understandable that the weekly Famitsu news would get lost in the shuffle. But here's one big story coming from Famitsu that shouldn't be missed: Dead Rising is coming to Wii. That's right. The (up to now) XBOX360 exclusive "survive a mall filled with zombies" game. Revealed in this week's Famitsu, Dead Rising for Wii isn't a rail shooter or any other kind of spinoff. It's a port of the 360 version. According to an interview with the game's producers (also in this week's Famitsu), the sales of Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition led them to port Dead Rising to the Wii.
Other interesting tidbits from the interview include the addition of motion controlled attacks, new weapons, and a new boss on top of all that. This is definitely exciting news for Wii owners who never got to play Dead Rising. No release date was stated, however, being a Wii owner who has never played Dead Rising but has always wanted to, I'm more than willing to wait as long as I have to for the chance to survive a zombie infested shopping mall on Wii.

This doesn’t make much sense, then again it is Capcom that we’re talking about. Well, best of luck to them. I have a feeling they’ll need it.
As someone who will never own an Xbox 360, this is great news. It’ll be sad that it won’t look as pretty, but at least it will run on the Wii and (hopefully) have essentially the same content as its original.
Its only a matter of time before they port Lost Planet.
@Kai: You’re gonna miss out on a lot of amazing games (:
Maybe they can call this version “Non-HD Television Owner’s Edition.”
I have an Xbox 360, but never picked up Dead Rising simply because it assumes you have an HD television, and thus can read text that is super small.
lolol @ FFXIII Wii.
Anyway, as for this, it’s good isn’t it? makes some sense when Capcom failed to sell the game in japan and opens doors for RE5 Wii…
It also has a clearly RE4 camera now, I’d even say it’s probably the RE4 engine. good stuff, and can perhaps be an improvement for me.
If it’s a quality port, I’ll pick it up. Maybe it’ll pave the way for Resident Evil 5.
Hold on a second folks! What about the Wii not getting Street fighter 4? Whats up with that!? Wii can handle SF4’s graphics & Wii have online too. Something ain’t right, Wii need to protest.
