Mega Man 9 is the same game on all platforms

Capcom doesn’t have any plans to make a PlayStation Network version of Mega Man 9 with high resolution sprites from Mega Man 8. The game will be an 8-bit sequel on the Wii, PlayStation Network, and Xbox 360 when it comes out this fall. A release date has not been set, but Mega Man 9 should be on all platforms around the same time.

I played a bit of Mega Man 9 yesterday and it’s full of tricks. On one stage you jump from one vanishing block to the next to avoid plummeting on the spikes below. Right when you see solid ground and think you’re safe a helmet robot shoots Mega Man with a spread shot. The hit pushes Mega Man right into the spikes unless you use the brief frame of animation to force your way through. In the same level another vanishing block puzzle gives the illusion you’re going to take a breather from deadly spikes on a top platform. If you try to take a rest there a vanishing block suddenly appears, blocks your path, and forces Mega Man to fall into the spikes.

The other level had more straightforward shooting with flying enemies dropping boulders from above. They’re similar to the birds in Mega Man 2, but the boulders only break into a few pieces rather than a flock of tiny birds. Mega Man can shoot the boulders to avoid getting hit. While you’re trying to avoid airborne rocks, green robots fly out of bottomless pits shooting Mega Man with bullets. The shots aren’t what you need to worry about. The green robots are deadly because if you touch one of them Mega Man plummets into oblivion.

Expect a challenge if you plan to purchase Mega Man 9.

Been noticing the punishing elements of the game, especially that mid boss elephant with a vaccuum alongside with a red ball thrown back and forth..

Will be pretty awesome to play

Do you know if this title will display in 480p, or something better, on the PS3/360?

it was kinda obvious that this mm9 was the same on all systems (same sprites, designs, etc.). It looks like its going to be a little "more difficult" than the previous classic MMs... but maybe is that only for unexperienced players (not everybody played those MM games when they were released). I still remember when I played my first MM (it was Mega Man 2), and I had always problem with one boss xD.
Great job Spencer, keep it up =)
