Good morning Virtual Console import shmups

gley.jpgThe weekly WiiWare game(s) stole headlines for weeks, but not today. Nintendo is about to distribute not just one, but two Sega Genesis shoot ‘em ups previously unreleased in North America. Gleylancer and Super Fantasy Zone costs 900 Wii Points ($9) apiece. The standard 100 Wii Point ($1) import tax is in place. I doubt the extra money went towards translating Gleylancer’s storyboard. Super Fantasy Zone should be in English since it was translated for Europe many moons ago.

Alternatively, your Wii Points can go towards Pirates: The Key of Dreams, a nautical ship shooting game from Oxygen games. Ten real dollars gets you flamethrowers on pirate ships.

Gleylancer is fantastic, but you have a typo, it's not $1 (I wish!!!)
  • @jeffx: I think you misread his sentence. The $1 Spencer cites is referring to the "import tax" Nintendo slaps on all Virtual Console import games, not the full price of the game.

@Ninjeff: Nah I think I was right and Spencer fixed his typo before you posted your comment ;)
