What would you ask the producer of Street Fighter IV?

I’m scheduled to speak with Yoshinori Ono, the Producer of Street Fighter IV, tomorrow. I already scribbled an outline of questions in my notebook, but I want to squeeze in some reader questions too. I can’t make any promises, but if you want to throw in a question, unrelated to this, submit it in the comments. I’ll try to sneak it in, but like I said before no promises.

Any chance of getting downloadable content (new stages, characters, etc.) in the future? In other words, is Street Fighter IV built with expandability in mind?

will sf4′s revisions be made available for download rather than just the traditional approach of requiring gamers to buy new game discs with every update? if so, how will pricing be decided? will gamers be able to decide what revision they’d like to play at least at home with friends?

with previous console generations, fighting game makers had a somewhat acceptable excuse for releasing new standalone carts/discs of the latest arcade revisions no matter how major or minor they were, but the time for this nonsense is dead and gone. i’m sick and tired of shelling out for a new product every time someone’s heavy attack gets reduced a few points of damage or someone’s special gets faster recovery. sega recognized the problem and released evo at 20 rather than 50, and sammy even released a 20 dollar append disc to patch the older version of guilty gear on ps2. capcom needs to recognize how things have changed.

Ok here are a few. Maybe some of them will be usable.

Will the PC version be made on the Games For Windows platform and if so, how is the possibility of 360 vs PC gaming looking? I know some games have managed it and others have not?

Are there plans to have the online servers be open worldwide or will lag force you to make different servers for varying regions?

Are you planning on making version exclusive characters or sticking to trying for a more uniform set of features for each platform?

    Hope these could be helpful.

after getting rid of the creator of street fighter…are you sure making this was a wise move?
what’s up with the awful facial features?
at least you’re correcting your mistake with tatsunoko vs. capcom…that god!
( last one wasn’t really a ques. but you probably guessed that.)

To echo ssj3gokou24, why did you destroy the great rating system that was created with Street Fighter III: Third Strike?

Granted it wasn’t perfect, but it certainly had its charms. Back peddling to Street Fighter II isn’t fresh or original and despite the flashy graphics and new characters I fail to see how the new game warrants being the evolution of the series. I’ve heard people jokingly refer to it as “Street Fighter 2.5″ but the sad reality of the fact is that they might be more correct than not.

Wow guys… try not to sound rude when making your question…

    My question to Yoshinori Ono–
“What would you say to Arcade Owners (in the US and Japan) who must pay high amounts to buy the new Street Fighter, when the home version is coming out in only a few months?”

What’s should be expected from downloadable content? And will it be the same across all platforms (especially the PC)?

No promises eh? Oh well…but my question to Ono would be:

“Would you have any interest in reviving the other Capcom fighting game series such as Darkstalkers, Rival Schools or Power Stone after Street Fighter IV have meet a certain amount of success? And How about a new old school style Final Fight built on SFIV’s engine…..?”

To second what ShinRekka asked. If SFIV does well, will other fighting franchises like Rival Schools, Slam Masters & Dark Stalkers be revived too?

Also, can we expect more Alpha & SFIII characters to appear in SFIV. Right now the game is very SFII heavy. (If you can ask about specific characters, please ask about Charlie, Rose, Urien & Poison.)

What ShinRekka and Anon said. Honestly I am more intreseted in Capcom’s other fighting franchises, ST has took a step downhill IMO.

Hmmm… well my question would be like:
It’s because of the story, the reason why you didn’t added well played characters like Gouki/Akuma, Sakura (Zero/Alpha series), Makoto, Urien or Yun (SF3: 3rd Strike)?

If you talk about downloadable content, maybe you could tell him that adding characters/stages on downloadable content isn’t a good idea. It’s much better if he creates a “SF4: second hit” (or something like that, like they made with almost every SF game) with more features.

    @”Anon”
Characters like Charlie wouldn’t be a big thing, it’s too similar to Guile (I mean the movements). And that’s only an example.

    Hey Spencer,

Could you ask about what the odds are of seeing a Wii version? Capcom has remained pretty tight-lipped on the subject so far, with Ono-san himself going so far as to say they don’t have anything in development.

But hey, it’s Capcom. They’ve got to be taking notice of all the Wii owners asking for the game, right?

    yo Spencer,

another question would be regarding extra content the console versions will get compared to the Arcade one. Not mentioning the Online, or DLC.
I mean, can we expect more game modes like Tag Team, Survival or Boss Battle?

    Peace.

@everyone – Thanks for the questions. The interview went down at 10:30 so that was the cut off point, but I placed more reader questions in the interview that I anticipated. Please look forward to seeing the interview next week.
