Xbox Live Summer of arcade kicks off with Geometry Wars 2 and ends with Castle Crashers imagesDuring the final weeks of summer vacation Microsoft is putting its best foot forward with games like Galaga Legions and not slipshod ports. The line up begins with a sequel to Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved which introduces new enemies and “multiplayer mayhem” for four players.

Here’s the schedule and note it’s only for North America at this time. Galaga Legions and Bionic Commando: Rearmed should appear in most regions. Braid and Castle Crashers are being published by Microsoft so they should appear worldwide on the same day. The sweepstakes where you can win 100,000 Microsoft Points, an Xbox 360 Elite console, and a 12 month Xbox LIVE Gold card is only for the USA, Canada, France, Germany, and the United Kingdom.

July 30 – Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2 (800 Microsoft Points)

August 06 – Braid

August 13 – Bionic Commando: Rearmed (800 Microsoft Points)

August 20 – Galaga Legions (800 Microsoft Points)

August 27 – Castle Crashers

Really, really amazing lineup. I was planning to buy basically all of them... seems to me XBLA has started delivering the quality in clumps (the last big spread was earlier this year with REZ, Ikaruga, etc).

Sorry MS but I am not paying 800 points for GW2. I think you have been going a little crazy lately with the 800 point price over 400 and this is a game that fits much better in the lower price point.
