Next week Go goes to WiiWareTsuushin Taikyoku Igo Dojo 2,700 Toi is basically go with online play and Miis. Nintendo is selling it for 1,000 Wii Points ($10) in Japan on August 5. This may surprise some of you, but this isn’t the only downloadable go game on WiiWare. Electronic Arts released one last month for 500 Wii Points ($5). The extra money goes towards 2,700 training scenarios.

WiiWare is boring in Japan. Two shogi games, two go games, solitaire and mahjong are part of the 21 titles currently available. Mahjong should sell well, but half of the games for WiiWare in Japan are puzzle/board games. Some of those are repeats.

Wiiware is boring everywhere. I can count on one hand the number of games worth even playing, and most of those I still would not shell out for.

I’d love a WiiWare go game myself, especially if it helps one improve play.
