Persona 4′s fishing mini-game

By Spencer . August 7, 2008 . 2:38pm

A murder mystery is going on in Persona 4, but you still have time to relax. In Persona 4 the protagonist can kick back by fishing. The game looks pretty simple. All you need to do is mash the circle button when a fish bites your line to reel it in. Not really sure how this actually benefits the characters in the dungeon section. Maybe you need to give fish to someone to boost a social link? I guess you have do something when you’re not zapping shadows with lightning bolts.

Does every game have to have a fishing mini-game now?

Looks nice, but I just hope going fishing or buying equipment won’t waste an entire afternoon anymore.

A fishing mini-game could be annoying but I missed this kind of things in previous Persona.

It is very simple and easy

Fishing is only used for exchanging items (equipment, baits and treasure chests keys) and to feed the cats in some sidequests

It is not compulsory and is more advisable to be done at night.
