Yuke’s gives Idea Factory a chance with Neverland Card Battles

Cardinal Arc Portable is coming out in Japan on the PSP in September and it is portable version of Idea Factory’s PlayStaton 2 hybrid card battling / strategy RPG game known as Cardinal Arc. Yuke’s Company of America decided to pick up the PSP version, localize it, and release it as Neverland Card Battle this October in North America. I hope these screenshots aren’t final because you can see the text isn’t properly fitting into the box.

The e-mail announcement doesn’t mention much about the gameplay. Actually, Idea Factory isn’t mentioned either, but this is an Idea Factory game. Congrats on finding another US publisher Idea Factory! If you’re curious about the art style check out these screenshots and the opening movie from the PlayStation 2 game below.

Awesome. I'll be sure to pick this one up if they sell it in Canada. (Chaos Wars was not shipped to Canadian retailers, unfortunately.)

Based on past PS2--->PSP ports by Idea Factory (2 of which I bought), I would be afraid to buy this one. Maybe they fixed the loading problems in their 3rd title (Aedis Eclipse), but the first two were almost unplayable.

Here's the interesting part: Click on those screenshots. Where are they being hosted? Atlus.com! In fact the entire website is also apparently hosted by Atlus U.S.A. http://www.atlus.com/neverlandcardbattles/

I wonder what involvement they have with this game.
