AtomAnother picture of Akuma in Street Fighter IV
Capcom formally announced Akuma will make an appearance in the arcade version of Street Fighter IV today. Very cool news, but I think most Street Fighter fans expected Akuma to make his way into the game one way or another. The description makes it sound like he just comes out and challenges players now, but if Akuma is Street Fighter IV he will eventually be playable. If there isn’t some Super Street Fighter II Turbo style code to unlock Akuma in the arcades Capcom will add Akuma as a playable character to the console port.

I know I’m only dreaming, but I hope to see some Akuma gameplay on the GC… I plan to participate on the SF4 tourney there too (saturday, 2:00pm)

I can’t wait to see Akuma in the home versions of Street Fighter IV along with the console version characters along with Gouken, all the characters that will have their own stages and everything.

Haggar from Final Fight is allegedly in the game too. (from the picture i saw, he has a mohawk, but otherwise the same costume from the first game)
