Capcom is properly merchandising Mega Man 9 with two soundtracks, and… energy drinks? Having video game themed beverages isn’t a first for Capcom. They did it for Sengoku Basara 2 and they are doing it again for Mega Man. This month in Japan you can buy a Rockman E-Tank Sports Drink for 137 yen ($1.25). The can even looks like an energy drink so it’s easily identifiable in the vast soft drink space at convenience stores. Mega Man 9 comes out next month in Japan and it feels like it has the biggest launch to date for a downloadable game. Let’s hope this successful marketing strategy paves a path for Mega Man 10 next year.

If its anything like the Final Fantasy potion, they probably taste like sh!t.
Who cares if it tastes bad, I just want one to put on my desk lol!
Anyway to get a few cans over here? Wouldn’t mind paying $10 for 2 or 3 cans of the stuff.
“Extranice”, well you can always make it easily yourself (a standard soda can with a E tank print anyone?) so its pretty much a rip off,
what would be cooler is new t shirts…
You can make a new t-shirt yourself using just a standard tee and an iron-on transfer.
Yeah, I don’t expect an E-tank to taste delicious. I just want it to look good!
Pretty nifty idea, I kind of prefer this design to the FF potion bottle. If one lives in the US, I’m pretty sure online stores like NCSX would carry it. I might get two cans, one to try out the taste and the other to collect
BTW, I like the MM9 retro sprites and all, but one can’t help but think Bionic Commando Rearmed is a better bargain at the same price (800 MS points), very hard platforming as well..
@G: It depends if some places will import them.
Oh, and translation here: http://rredux.wordpress.com/2008/08/15/rockman-e-can-drink/
“Mikaelâ€, well you can always make a new t-shirt easily yourself (a standard t-shirt website with a .jpg anyone?) so its pretty much a rip off,
what would be cooler is a game that BRIDGES THE GAP BETWEEN THE ORIGINAL AND “X” SERIES. A new “Legends” game will be satisfactory, also.
