I was looking forward to this but from what i've read and seen, it's far too americanised and just sounds bad.

I'll try the demo but it's no longer an instant purchase.

One commenter on that article seems to have played an early version, and is saying that the timing is sloppy and the note charts don't make sense (probably because of the controller limitations). Whether that's true or not, I'm not sure how fun it would be to play this with the 360 d-pad, and there aren't any similar controllers for 360 at all.

I think PSN would have been a better choice than XBL, despite the smaller install base.

Of course, yeah....the "localized" art doesn't help. I wish they'd gone in a completely different direction instead of just a bad facsimile of the original style with SERIOUS 'TUDE added.

why retain the art style if you're not going to retain the feel? i think they should have just left it alone or gone in an entirely different direction.

I wonder if, assuming it is released on the Japanese Marketplace, it will retain the original Pop n Music art?

this is most unfortunate. I really REALLY adore Pop'n music. I especially love the art and characters. U.u; no reason for me to pick this up at all. I already have the imports and a proper controller too. Just... ugh, that is really mostly unappealing art. Tsk tsk.
