Sega "making RPG now"

Smack on Sega Japan’s front page is a dragon button linking to a teaser site for another RPG. This isn’t Shining Force Feather, Garnet Chronicle or Phantasy Star Zero. Sega’s dragon project is something new and it has catchy chip tunes. We will find out exactly what this game is in the September 26 issue of Famitsu. In the meantime ponder this thought Rieko Kodama, the producer of Skies of Arcadia, is involved in the project. While this probably isn’t related to Skies of Arcadia,  it’s good to know Kodama has prior experience with the genre.

It's Image Epoch, so it's a new IP. Nice to see Kodama in RPGs again too, after her unfortunate detour with mediocre action and brain games.

And SEGA seems to be just loaded with DS RPGs (World Destruction, Shining Force Feather, Phantasy Star 0, Shiren DS2, Blazer Drive, Sonic Chronicles, Infinite Line, Culdcept DS and whatever this turns out to be). I honestly don't think they've had this stacked and varied an RPG lineup since the Saturn days.
  • Thank god they're making RPG now. I was worried they'd be making fighting game now or something.
