Soulcalibur IV gets rebalanced in Japan Jaxel sent an e-mail (thanks!!) to let us know a Soulcalibur IV patch is out in the wild. Well, the wild Japanese build of Soulcalibur IV for the PlayStation 3 at the moment. Namco Bandai didn’t send out a press release announcing what changes were made, but a helpful forum member from 8wayrun posted LAU’s analysis of the patch on Calibur Forum. According to LAU, Soul Crushes are harder to do, you can just impact throws, and Ivy’s infinite combo has been fixed. LAU has a long list of other insightful details written in jargon that should be interesting to the competitive crowd. These new rules don’t apply to the US version yet so enjoy the easy Soul Crushes while they last.

Wow. I’m not sure why it didn’t occur to me until just now, that fighting games can now have balance changes made and deployed thanks to XBL and PSN. (Rather than needing a new game each time, as much as I love Guilty Gear. . . )

Now if only I could get a better d-pad on my 360 controller, there would truly not be a better time to be a fighting game player. ;o; In any case though, very awesome news!
