Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Cross Generation of Heroes Crosses With The Wii

By Spencer . September 16, 2008 . 11:06pm

Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Cross Generation of Heroes Crosses With The Wii Buck up Wii owners. Street Fighter IV may not be in the cards now, but you’re the only group getting a home version of Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Cross Generation of Heroes. Capcom plans to release the Wii port in Japan on December 11 and it comes with extra heroes.

A scan from Famitsu shows a genie from Tatsunoko’s Hakushon Daimaou as one of the original characters designed specifically for the Wii version. The same issue also reveals PTX-40A from Lost Planet and Karas as two other playable characters. The giant vital suit should be a formidable opponent for Gold Lightan on the Tatsunoko side.

While this is really exciting news we’re still waiting to see if Capcom can work through legal issues and publish this in North America. Keep your fingers crossed.

    Excellent… Another “must-have” for me…

I´m not holding my breath regarding a US release though because I really doubt that the game would get released in its original form (same characters, music, voices, etc) so I´m already satisfied with this news. But well, if somehow Capcom US manages to surprise me, it would be great.

I´m glad that the Wii has now several fighting games to be released this year that I care about, coincidentially in a year of revival in the genre. I hope to see more of them next year, specially 2D ones…

Even though it’s been rumored forever… it’s still kind of a surprise.

I wonder what Capcom’s Wii based AC board is called, specced at and if it’ll be used for more releases then?

So the rumors are true. I seriously hope they can release it overseas…..been dying for a Capcom Wii fighter for awhile. It’s been hinted that Capcom US is maybe trying but seeing Ken(Gatcha) not at the Evo loke test was a bad sign….still though *crosses fingers*.

And yeah, thought the same thing about the Wii based Arcade board…..wonder what future games will be on it.

    So meaningless to me.

    PS3 version: Region Free.

    Wii version: Region locked.

With Nintendo cracking down on the Freeloader, and this title being very unlikely to cross shores (Where’s Namco X Capcom?), the PS3 version is the only version most in the US are ever going to get a chance to play.

Well as the person above me stated, if the wii version does not come to US and Europe (in my case), there is no point with a console port :(

Even better if it ever comes to the PS3 is if there’s an Asia-region version that gets the same treatment as SIREN: New Translation in terms of language (though for a fighting game, it shouldn’t matter).

This is a game targeted squarely at the Japanese market with a heavy dose of regional nostalgia… being Wii bound, even exclusively, is no real upset in that sense. It’s the prefect market actually.

And there’s plenty of import solutions on Wii as is (TP hack/Gekko OS, freeloader), plus Capcom USA seems surprisingly committed to brining the title here in some form anyway. I’m not too worried about it honestly, I’m more curious if we’ll see the recently rumored (again!) MVC3 happen…

Exactly… Like jarrod said, there´s already several ways to play import games on Wii. I´m confident that at least one of them would work with the game. And it´s definitely the best alternative market wise, not to mention that it´s probably more cheaper and simple for Capcom to port it to Wii.

And if we are going to talk about how many people would get to play the game when compared to an hypothetical PS3 release, I think the Wii version would obviously be more played. After all, the PS3 is not only a more expensive console with lower sales, but is also the only one of the 3 that hasn´t been modded yet…

I’m not going to hold my breath for a US release, but I’m still glad that it’s getting a console port. I guess a region-free PS3 release is all we can really hope for. If only Nintendo wasn’t run by Nazis….
