Atlus Spoils Pre-Orderers With Art Books

By Spencer . September 18, 2008 . 12:54pm

Japan doesn’t always get the best pre-order swag. We’re getting art books as pre-order gifts with Luminous Arc 2, Eternal Poison, and Persona 4. These aren’t thin art pamphlets either. The 7″ x 10″ Persona 4 Visual Data art book is color 100 pages. Persona 4 also comes standard with a soundtrack CD and it’s just $39.99. That’s a steal. The best Persona 4 promotion is probably at Konamistyle where Kuma (aka Teddie in North America) plushies are given out as a bonus if you buy the game for 6,594 yen ($63).

Eternal Poison and Luminous Arc 2 are getting the same treatment. Pre-orderers get an art book, soundtrack, and a game for $39.99. If you buy the game at later date you just get a soundtrack and a game. Here’s a look at the Luminous Arc 2 and Eternal Poison deluxe sets.

Alright, I do want that art book as I haven’t found a japanese one. I guess I have to preorder now…

  • jeffx

Yup I was on the fence about Eternal Poison but now I’m in.

  • Hello Hello

I love art books as bonuses.

  • Al

I already preordered P4 about a month ago on Amazon. I wonder if I still get the art book…

  • jeffx

    @Al: Yes.

  • EdgeKun

Wait. P4 is already up for Preorder?
EFF. Even more money gone to Gamestop. ><

  • Pedro Silva

I want to pre-order all three, but darned stores they chose, I mean the only that sends overseas is gamespot and they ask for $24 for each game :|

I want VGP to have that too!

  • ryne11

I pre-ordered P4 from gamestop a while ago online. Will I still get the bonuses?

  • jeffx

@ryne11: YES! In fact you’re at the top of the priority list so don’t cancel your preorder to create a new one.

  • ryne11

    Very nice, Thanks

I’d rather have a $30 game without the extras than $40 with that stuff. Especially for LA2 – $40 for a DS game is a little much.

  • SomeDude

Well, put it this way. They’re not the first company to charge $40 for a DS game, but they are the first company to give you a deluxe DS package for $40.

I’d much rather have the artbook + CD + game for $40 than the Square Enix, “$40 because it’s a Square Enix game” route.

@jeffx – I feel kind of dumb now. I read the description on Amazon more carefully and apparently the book, along with the OST, comes in the box, probably just like the P3 one did. Thanks for the reassurance though.
