DoDonPachi Dai Ou Jou Black Label Gains Xbox 360 Extra Mode

DoDonPachi Dai Ou Jou Black Label Gains Xbox 360 Extra Mode The “extra” in DoDonPachi Dai Ou Jou Black Label Extra stands for X mode, created specifically for the Xbox 360. X Mode is designed for beginners and introduces Piper, a new elemental doll. This might not be a feature core shooters are going rave about, but I can see why 5bp added this in. An easy mode might make DoDonPachi Dai Ou Jou Black Label more accessible to a wider audience. Don’t worry the original mode is still there and the Black Label version. New features include online rankings, replay mode, an an option to display the game vertically. However, the fact sheet on Famitsu says the graphics are not high resolution, you have anti-aliasing options instead, and there isn’t an option for 5.1 channel surround sound. 5pb seems to be rushing to get DoDonPachi Dai Ou Jou Black Label Extra out this year. It barely stays in the 2008 calendar with a release in Japan, and currently Japan only, on December 25.

@James – Yeah it is strange, but it seems like it’s more of a business decision possibly from 5bp. Shooters are a niche market, the Xbox 360 has a small, but growing user base in Japan, and DoDonPachi is remembered as being extremely challenging. I think the idea of the beginner mode is to new attract gamers who would have written the game off for its difficulty.
