Japan Gets A Double Dose Of Professor Layton

By Spencer . September 26, 2008 . 8:52am

layton Professor Layton and the Final Time Travel warps into Japanese retail stores on November 27. In this game Professor Layton and Luke visit London in the distant future where they run into adult Luke as seen in this trailer. Before Layton gets sucked into the future he will stop be an eerie inn. Level 5 plans to release Professor Layton to Shikagami no Kan (Professor Layton and the Inn’s Death Mirror), an original Layton game for mobile phones, on October 28. That’s a lot of Layton, but we won’t see any of it soon. We’re still waiting for Professor Layton and the Devil’s Box which hasn’t been confirmed for an international release yet.

The trailer is epic, the adult Luke looks and sounds so cool! I wanted to play the third installment as soon as I finished the 2nd one. Even though the puzzles which follow a set pattern seem a little repetitive at times, the story really sucks you in.

Also I love the famous actors they pick for the cast, all very fitting for the characters, despite not having the British accent.

the amount of time it is taking Nintendo to confirm the localization of the second installment is really disheartening. I’m starting to think that it might not even make it to NA. Someone prove me wrong! *tear drop*

I was never crazy about this game, but I guess a lot people like it if it’s getting all these games and a film based on it.

NOA actually already confirmed Layton 2 btw… it was in Layton 1′s instruction manual.

I expect we get a year between each release here. I also wouldn’t be surprised to see NOA extending their co-publishing deal with L5 to include their upcoming DS/Wii RPGs.
