Elevator Action Returns To Arcades As A Light Gun Game

eactiondp Ever since Square Enix purchased Taito old franchises like the Legend of Kage have come back from the dead. Elevator Action is getting a revival too as Elevator Action Death Parade, a light gun arcade game with the neato gimmick of sliding elevator doors. The red button in the middle opens the doors and reveals an LCD screen with enemies to shoot. Two players can link up for co-op play, but that won’t be happening for awhile.

Elevator Action Death Parade won’t come out in Japan until summer 2009. No international release has been announced either, but we can dream one of these creative cabinets will be imported somewhere else.

  • I liked Elevator Action Returns, so I’m really interested to see how this is supposed to work. If only they could cross it with something like Police 911‘s motion sensors to hide behind the panels. That would really be interesting, if not limited in application.

I also find it interesting how they’re taking the “elevator” concept literally in this game since none of the elevators in the past games actually had sliding doors.

  • Elevator Action…DEATH PARADE!

Square Enix, you’ve done it again.

James, that sounds like an awesome idea.. being able to hide behind the doors/walls in the elevator would be pretty cool.

  • Sliding doors?

Doesn’t it make it a lift instead?

    Lift Action Death Parade?
