dqix Square Enix is giving the Dragon Quest series a 90 minute event during the two public days of Tokyo Game Show. Head to the event stage at hall 8 to catch Square Enix’s Dragon Quest Special Stage at 1:00 – 2:30 on Saturday, October 11 and 10:30AM – 12:00 Sunday, October 12. Attendees will catch a demo of Dragon Quest Monster Battle Road II, a card battling game scheduled to hit arcades this December, and get the skinny on the “latest information” on Dragon Quest IX.

Will this be the place Square Enix discloses a release date for Dragon Quest IX, which according to their TGS product page, is scheduled to come out sometime in 2008. Or will Square Enix hype a list of new features with an anti-climatic delay until 2009? Be at Tokyo Game Show to hear the crowd grown or cheer firsthand!

I’m willing to wait for any extra tweaks for a better gaming experience. Just my two cents.

No word on DQ6r? I wonder if it’s coming after DQ9 then?

I’m betting on a delay too, but to Square Enix’s credit they don’t have any Nintendo DS games coming out in December so that might be their release window.

No news on Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Reverie. Supposedly it won’t be shown at TGS at all. We can hope there will be some news from the event, but that’s really up in the air.
