Klonoa Getting The Wii-Make Treatment

By Spencer . October 1, 2008 . 11:23am

krNamco Bandai isn’t grabbing the PlayStation 2 Klonoa game and slapping motion control on it. This Klonoa remake is based on the PsOne game Klonoa: Door to Phantomile. The original is being upgraded on the Wii with cel-shaded graphics and no waggle. Klonoa: Door to Phantomile uses a classic controller scheme where the remote is held like an NES pad and the 2 button makes Klonoa jump. The other addition is a more elusive. Klonoa: Door to Phantomile supports 1-4 players which probably means motion controlled mini-games. We should find out what they are soon since Klonoa: Door to Phantomile is scheduled to come out in Japan on December 4 for a reasonable price of 4,800 yen ($43). Since the game is coming out soon I hope Namco Bandai surprises us with a playable build next week at Tokyo Game Show.

HA! nice, played both. There language is funny. How about Brave fencer Mushasi remake next?

No forced motion control on a Wii for once? Are my eyes deceiving me? That's great!
  • I love Klonoa! I own both GBA games and the PS2 title. The PS1 original has long eluded me though. I hope this comes to the US. Otherwise, I'll have one more reason to hack the region locking on my Wii (with Capcom vs. Tatsunoko being the first reason).
