At One Point Was There Really A Disaster: Day Of Crisis Sequel On The Table?

Sales wise Disaster: Day of Crisis isn’t looking hot, but things weren’t always this way. During Disaster: Day of Crisis’ long development cycle Monolith Soft or maybe Nintendo considered a cliffhanger ending to lead up to the next installment of a possible Disaster series. Like a DVD extra an “alterative ending” unlocks after you beat the game. You can watch it in the movie theater if you have the Japanese or European version of Disaster: Day of Crisis, but since Nintendo of America might not release the game in North America here’s the clip from the European release with English subtitles.

I put “alternative ending” in quotes since it isn’t clear if this really was going to be used as an ending or if this is an inside joke at Monolith Soft. We will probably never find out, but the way Disaster: Day of Crisis is selling I doubt it will ever get a sequel no matter how cheesy cool an Armageddon rip-off would be.

well, the blame of it not selling is Nintendo’s. Zero marketing push for it.

and I still have to buy it.

This said I dunno if I want a sequel, I’m pretty much a monolith-tard even before the nintendo aquisition, but… while I do think this experience can be good for them (seeing that xenosaga’s biggest problem was gameplay as well as most of their games) I want them focusing on RPG’s.

Look at Madame Secretary and the president’s face, “not this shit again!?” So campy, and judging from the positive reviews from Jpn Amazon, it would be a waste not to bring it over. Really want. How did Endless Ocean sell? If they price this at $40 like Zack & Wiki, it should garner decent sales..

Endless Ocean sold like… half a million? pretty much for what it is.

sin and punishment had a sequel, how it was sales wise in comparison to disaster?

I completed the game today, had it since release date, and it’s not for a sequel, after you see this video, you unlock an extra shooting gallery, where you try to shoot down the meteorite. Unfortunately, it’s no for a sequel.
