But, We Already Have Final Fantasy VII: Snowboarding In The USA

ff7sb Just in case you heard about Final Fantasy VII: Snowboarding yesterday and were envious thinking it was one of those Japan-only things I have some good news. Final Fantasy VII: Snowboarding is actually out in the USA! The Gold Saucer mini-game got ported to Verizon’s V-Cast service in 2005 along with a Musashi Samurai Legend game. Both are 3D cell phone games too so it’s not like Japan always gets top quality cell phone games. Square Enix has been pushing their mobile phone games like Dirge of Cerberus: Lost Episode and the very obscure shooter Brave Shot in North America too.

Here’s something you may not be aware of: at one point Square Enix teased the thought of releasing Before Crisis: Final Fantasy VII to North America. A demo was brought to an E3 ages ago and it was sitting next to other games that were released on Verizon’s network like Hexcite Fusion. Hexcite Fusion got released years ago too. We’re still waiting on Before Crisis: Final Fantasy VII.

  • As long as cell phone games remain exclusive to a network that doesn't really care about advertising them (see: probably any of them, really) then they'll still seem obscure here in America. Personally, I use AT&T, most of my friends use AT&T, and the few people I know who use Verizon wouldn't care about this anyway. It's sad. Someone needs to figure out how to get them available for people with other phones.
  • I love games and also snow boarding so I'm really interested about that game.
