Tomy plans to squeeze 35 characters into Naruto: Shippuuden Gekitou Ninja Taisen EX 3. Usually news like this would be good news, however, most of these characters were already in last year’s Naruto Wii game. This installment introduces a paltry five characters: Kurenai, Hidan, Kakazu, and two secret characters. The anime is progressing slowly in Japan which could be one reason why Tomy wasn’t able to add in as many new characters as they wanted to. Still, paying 6,800 yen ($70) for a handful of new characters might not be worth it, especially if you own Naruto: Clash of Ninja Revolution 2. Tag team battles rock, but you just know Tomy is going to release another Naruto game next year with even more characters. Hopefully, more than five.

Here’s the announced roster so far:

Sakura
Sai
Shikamaru

wow how exciting 5 new characters this game is gonna rock

  • lostinblue

The first gamecube Naruto’s were fine, but now they’re dragging it to no end (I haven’t even played the Wii versions, neither am I a naruto fan or ever was, but mild enjoyed the first ones) seriously, they need to get on with the times, expand, try their chances, improve, etc.

And… asking $70 for 5 extra characters? mindblowing!

It has been confirmed that the last two are Baki and Yugao. Both of which have done nearly nothing in this entire series. In reality, there are only two new characters. The other three were not only in Revolution 2, but they are far from relevant to the current story. How disappointing.

@Traveler – Thanks for the info. I thought it was going to be something like that. This year North America is really getting the better end of the deal.
