Japan’s Sonic Unleashed Delay Is For Marketing Reasons, Not Quality Reasons

By Spencer . November 13, 2008 . 1:55am

image Despite what the Sonic World Adventure page said about improving the quality in the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions, Sega assures us we won’t get a shoddy copy of Sonic Unleashed when it ships out for the Xbox 360 later this month. A retraction statement is up on the Sonic World Adventure page (thanks for the tip Sean!) explaining “the difference in the international release dates is based on the sales strategy and the manufacturing schedule. There will be no quality difference between the North American/European/Asia release and the Japanese version. Please be assured we are doing our best to deliver a top quality experience to people all over the globe.” That’s a relief.

Sega goes on to say, “Sonic Team is proud to present you Sonic Unleashed (Sonic World Adventure). You will be able to experience the best Sonic ever in no time!” Best Sonic ever? I’ll keep my fingers crossed that this is true.
