7th Dragon’s Fighters And Mages

By Spencer . November 21, 2008 . 3:42pm

Imageepoch designed 7th Dragon as a classic dungeon crawling RPG with modern graphics. That means battles have flashy attack animations and these clips have some of them. Mages can scorch everything on the screen by casting Volcano while Fighters stream across enemies when you select Hex Spike.

What’s missing from these videos is seeing the cat-eared Mage attacking with a frozen ice pop. I wonder if popsicles will be an equippable item when 7th Dragon comes out next spring.

Well I’m sold on the battles.
It really reminds me of Etrian Odyssey (which makes sense because it is from the same director according to Wikipedia…)

Any word from Sega on a US release yet?

  • Sora

This game sucks, first person rpg lame pass.

  • R

holy shit sold. SO CUTE. Hopefully it’s still bastard hard.

BRING IT TO AMERICA SEGA (…Or let someone else do so.)

  • Nika

@R; same here, I was sold as soon as I saw the artwork a few weeks ago. (and please, no caps…)

If SOA’s not interested, I’m sure Atlus USA will snap it up.

Is the music awesome or what? and I love how speedy the battles are.

i want this game so bad. it looks super cute! day one for me.

  • @Sora – only the battles are in first person.

This game gives me a good vibe, it’ll be good to see how Reiko Kodama’s newest title turns out.

what’s wrong with first person dungeon crawlers? they’re awesome! ^^
Even through 7th dragon isn’t a first person dungeon crawler, I’m still very much interested (being an RPG junkie and all). I agree with jeffx, I love how speedy the battles are, it gives the game a different kind of feel. =)
