Space Puzzle Bobble Pops In December

image Taito produced Arkanoid and Space Invaders remakes on the DS so it’s not much of a surprise that a new version of Puzzle Bobble aka Bust-a-Move in other regions is coming out too. However, unlike how Taito handled their other legacy franchises Space Puzzle Bobble isn’t an evolution of Puzzle Bobble.

I played Space Puzzle Bobble at TGS and it’s basically Bust-a-Move with dual screen boss fights. Not sure if that’s enough for Bust-A-Move fans to plunk down 3,990 yen ($40) to import it when it comes out on December 18 in Japan. As a $20 Square Enix USA published Taito game it might be worth a look. Square Enix hasn’t officially announced if they’re going to publish Space Bubble Bobble yet, but chances seem pretty good since they published pretty much every Taito DS game except the Cooking Mama series and the Taito’s train quiz games. Here’s a flash demo of Space Puzzle Bobble to keep you busy while the time passes.

    Looks good, I can't imagine we won't get this too. Doesn't it also use the paddle controller?

    I just played the demo, and I'm addicted. It's great! As long as it has some length to it (Not beat in one sitting game) and like bonuses, maybe a versuses made... We'll see.
  • @jarrod - The site doesn't say anything about paddle controller support so I'm guessing no.

    Looks like it's being made by the same guys that made Etrian Odyssey and Cameltry DS.

    if this makes it to NA, I'm picking it up for sure, I've been waiting for Bust-A-Move DS.

    @Spencer

    Well, if not too bad. Now I'm trying to figure out where I heard that? :/

    @Jay

    Lancarse? They also did Legend of Kage 2 for Taito.
