Brandish Revived With A PSP Remake

image Falcom is going all out for their remake of Brandish. The overhead action RPG will be transformed into a full 3D for the PSP. Brandish: The Dark Revenant looks different, but the story sounds about the same. You play as Ares a swordsman that gets falls into a hole and into a dungeon. If you haven’t played Brandish before the game has a lot of holes that act as traps.

Visually, Brandish: The Dark Revenant looks better than the Super Nintendo version. Speaking of that we’re probably not going to see it on the Virtual Console now since the PSP remake is scheduled to come out in Japan on March 19. No North American release has been announced, but Atlus is working with Falcom now so they could pick this Brandish: The Dark Revenant in the future.

Now to bug the hell out of Atlus USA.

  • I’m going to miss the frilly hair, but at least they kept the metal bikini

  • Connor

Atlus needs to bring us the PSP port of Zwei!! first, though!

  • Jay

Atlus is bring over Ys on the DS because Interchannel is their sister company, otherwise I doubt they’d bother in face of all the better ports Falcom has done on PSP (mostly) them-selves.

I don’t want to anger any diehards, but I hope they lose the funky movement / camera thing. It’s pretty disorienting…

I wouldn’t rule out a VC release either honestly… recent portable remakes haven’t kept games like Ys I&II or Dracula X off the service.

Talking about Falcom games, Eiyuu Densetsu: Sora no Kiseki would be a nice addition to US RPGs library, anyone? bring it over!
