Claymore Anime Cuts Into 2009 DS Lineup

Claymore Anime Cuts Into 2009 DS Lineup images Shonen Jump run manga and Madhouse developed anime series, Claymore, is coming to the DS next year. In the game players control Clare, the main character of the series, and slay ghastly monsters known as yoma. Clare has the power to sense yoma which is implemented into the Nintendo DS game as enemy radar on the bottom screen. Seems kind of pointless since Claymore is a 2D side scroller.

Looks like it might be a beat ‘em up with talking head cutscenes too. Right now the only screenshots we have are of Clare crushing yoma. More details should be revealed at this December’s Jump Fiesta since the game will be at the show. After that Claymore is still on the horizon since it isn’t scheduled to come out until spring 2009.

Digital Works Entertainment is acting as the developer and publisher. The latter of which is a first for the company. Other games Digital Works contributed to include Eternal Sonata where they did modeling stuff and a bunch of mobile phone games.

I like the anime, these kind of anime games are more fitting for ps3 or xbox not 360

    I meant not handheld

I love the anime too. I just picked up the latest manga and caught the little blurb that says it's coming to the DS, I thought they were making a 2nd season anime. This looks like a good 2-D side-scroller, very interested, pls include more voices :)

I hope it follows the manga and not the Anime.

If it does, this ought to be an awesome game. The franchise has great potential

The anime was exactly like the manga right, except it has a different ending because it caught up w/ the manga at Vol. 12 or so, where they talk about Claire 7 years later.

I thought the anime really did the original manga justice, considering how most recent anime adaptation turn down the violence that blood is like a taboo (eg. Bleach's blackish brown blood). The anime Claymore cast was filled w/ veteran voice actresses too.

don't know about the anime but the manga is awesome

It looks pretty cool, at least judging by the tiny screen shots. I'm always a sucker for side-scrolling action games.

SIde Scrolling action games are the best haven't had one of those for awhile.
