Kirby’s Dream Land 3 Floats Onto Virtual Console

image Your first digital games in 2009 from Nintendo are Kirby’s Dream Land 3 and Sandy Beach. Since Kirby’s Dream Land 3 came out so late in the lifecycle of the Super NES it looked impressive. The gameplay, however, is standard Kirby fare where you eat and absorb the powers of enemies. Since this is the same old Kirby it probably isn’t worth what eBay auctions are commanding, but 800 Wii Points ($8) isn’t a bad deal.

Konami brings us Sandy Beach, this week’s only WiiWare game. In Sandy Beach you build sand castles and in Crab Battle mode defend them from vicious sand crabs. Sandy Beach is a “budget” WiiWare game clocking in at 500 Wii Points ($5), but after seeing this release I’m left wondering what happened to Konami’s other WiiWare game Gradius Rebirth. It came out in Japan this past September and got an ESRB rating in October. Unlike Gradius Rebirth Sandy Beach was developed in Wisconsin by Frozen Codebase.

Happy New Year from Nintendo.

This is probably one of the worst Kirby games I have tried (too generic), but it does look amazing.

I actually thought it was a great game, not the best of the Kirby platformers but still a good game in its genre.

I think what killed it was little difference in gameplay (animal friends showed up in Dreamland 2) and the critera for the helping others was rather guesswork imo, hard to know what they wanted at times.

    I loved this game. :)

Yeah this game rocks! I love anything Kirby though… KIRBY 4EVER!

I wonder when this will hit the Virtual Console? Soon I hope! I’d love to own all the Kirby’s on me Wii.

When is a Wii Kirby coming anyways? It seems forever since they hinted the return (?) of that vaporware Gamecube game.

Either way more Kirby for everyone. Love this series.

I played through this game not too long ago just because it has Samus. And Metroids. But other than that, it was pretty much a standard Kirby game that didn’t really excel in any category, but was fun overall.
