Buyer Beware FF XIII Demo Not Included In All Versions Of Advent Children Complete

By Spencer . January 12, 2009 . 5:49am

image Planning on picking up Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete in March to be among the first to play Final Fantasy XIII? Make sure you get the first edition version. Square Enix plans to launch three versions of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete in stores simultaneously. Confusing huh?

The first edition comes with a special disc with the Final Fantasy XIII demo and trailers of Final Fantasy Versus XIII and Final Fantasy Agito XIII. The regular edition does NOT have the demo or the trailers.

The last option is only for people who don’t currently have a PlayStation 3 or are desperate to try Final Fantasy XIII. Square Enix and Sony are also releasing a hardware bundle that comes with a PS3 (model not specified), Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete, and the coveted special disc.

Would the demo work on an american ps3?

  • Spencer

@Eddie – Square Enix hasn’t and probably will not say anything about that. All PS3 games have been region free and the Blu-ray region encoding is the same for the US/Japan. Theoretically speaking, the movie and the demo should have no problems then. But, there is always a small chance the demo won’t work too and it’s a small risk anyone importing on day one is subtly taking.

    What the hell…?

Even for Square Enix, this is incredibly backward.

  • QBasic

@Ishaan: No it’s not. This is a company that SELLS *trailers* with the intent of immediately taking them off of Youtube and Veoh.

SE has no shame, or qualms about doing anything like this.

  • Adrian

Oh God….SE, seriously? Let me guess, this Special edition is going to cost much more, isnt it? =_= !
