All PS3 games have been region free and the Blu-ray region encoding is the same for the US/Japan. Theoretically speaking, the movie and the demo should have no problems then. But, there is always a small chance the demo won't work too and it's a small risk anyone importing on day one is subtly taking. @Eddie – Square Enix hasn’t and probably will not say anything about that. All PS3 games have been region free and the Blu-ray region encoding is the same for the US/Japan. Theoretically speaking, the movie and the demo should have no problems then.
