Nintendo Beginning To Localize Japanese WiiWare Games

Nintendo Beginning To Localize Japanese WiiWare Games One debacle WiiWare faces is who is going to localize and publish games for other regions? Square Enix brought Lost Winds to Japan, but what about all those Japan-only games like Shootanto and Sorcery Blade? Nintendo isn’t picking up those, but they got their hands on Lonpos.

Lonpos was a WiiWare launch title in Japan that became remembered more for it’s downloadable content than the game itself. The concept of Lonpos is simple. Players pick up pieces and finagling them into a rectangle. Genki developed the game, but an ESRB rating informs us Nintendo will take care of publishing Lonpos here sometime in the future. While you may not be excited about Lonpos it would be interesting to see Nintendo pick up the many other WiiWare games in Japan that don’t have ties to a US publisher like Overturn.

Looking forward to try it on the Wii. The actual game is very fun and addicting, best game to play while procrastinating.
And I never knew IQ珠 was called Lonpos in English.
