Dragon Quest V Movies Approach

By Spencer . January 16, 2009 . 12:45pm

Not just any clips, English Dragon Quest V clips of the hero battling mimics, befriending slimes, and earning badges. Let’s begin with this movie with the nameless hero riding a mine cart in Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride.

Did you notice the hero was still marching in place even though he is confined in the minecart? Ah, good old Dragon Quest and your old school sprite animation techniques. More classic meets modern videos are below.

    Love it!

Spencer, you have to make the SMT: DS partial review, i'm in love with that game.

Another pointless name change from Henry to Harry. Anyways I can't wait to finish this game properly and get children with Bianca :)!

Sugiyama's DQ music is the best. All these old DQ remakes, I've always wondered why they never make a game for "Dai's Adventure" (Dai no Daibouken), it would be awesome as a traditional turn-based RPG. The manga was immensely popular during the 90's when it ran in Jump. I want to hunt down the anime series but it was never released on DVDs even in Jpn, only a handful of VHS.
  • ...Pankraz? PANKRAZ?! Why the bloody heck PANKRAZ?! Sounds like a body part... D'oh... Why, Square-Enix, why?

Well... At least we're finally getting the game in English.

Dunno if there is any relation or relevance, but Pankraz is the (German) short form of Pankratius or Pancras in English, which is a Greek name and means something like "all" (=Pan) "mighty / powerful" (=Kratos)
