Edgeworth Takes The Case In May

By Spencer . January 16, 2009 . 8:51am

image Phoenix Wright’s rival Miles Edgeworth is starring in his own game. In Japan it’s called Gyakuten Kenji (Reversal Prosecutor) and Capcom will release it on May 28. The official site mentions a limited edition too, but there aren’t any details about what it contains.

It’s Edgeworth’s job to identify the perpetrator and the motive. You investigate crime scenes, but for the first time players can freely move their characters to search every nook and cranny for evidence. Once Edgeworth has enough clues you get to put the pieces together with the game’s logic system to build a case. While Gyakuten Kenji is a spin-off of the Phoenix Wright games it sounds closer to a point and click adventure than the other games in the series.

I can’t wait for this to come stateside. :D

Holy cow Gumshoe must be seven feet tall in that screen shot! o.o

…unless they pull what they did in that GTO episode (given the apparent average height in Japan) and he only turns out to be 5″11′.

Oh, upon closer inspection, it’s standing further back in in the playing field, which is why he appears so much taller (the game looked like a sidescroller to me at first for some reason).

I hope this comes stateside. I love point and click adventure games and I love the Phoenix Wright series.

One of my Most Wanted games of ’09. Hopefully Capcom can announce GS5 sooner or later.

I’m still a little doubtful if this would be as fun w/o the court cases, I guess Edgeworth would confront the perpetrator right then and there at the crime scene w/ his wit. Definitely getting this game on day 1. I might just get the regular edition if the SE is too expensive, like Apollo Justice’s headphone set.

can’t wait to play this. GS series is gold. =)
