Konami Mashes Manga Characters Together For PSP Fighter

Sunday x Magazine: Taisen Action is sort of like Jump Superstars for the PSP except it’s not linked to Shonen Jump. Konami culled characters from two different manga magazines, Weekly Shonen Sunday published by Shogakukan and Weekly Shonen Magazine published by Kodansha for the cast.

Basically, this set up opens the door for otherwise impossible fights like Inuyasha vs. Shinichi Mechazawa (the robot from Cromartie High School) and Kyo fighting the Absolutely Lovely Children.

Who is in the game? Here’s a list of announced characters so far.

Phew, that’s a lot of characters, some of which I had to learn about to write this! Judging by the screenshots it looks like the game has a partner system too since another face and a number to the right of Negi’s life bar.

Sigh. I guess this is going to be another game that never makes it outside of Japan. I haven't looked up which companies hold the licenses to those franchises in the U.S. yet though.

Viz has at least half of them since Shogakukan owns them. That probably doesn't matter since Konami isn't showing much interest localizing anime games anyways. They passed on Death Note and Yu-Gi-Oh's latest PSP game even though an English version is coming out elsewhere.

Cool man, the idea of Ippo(Hajime no Ippo) fighting Kenishi (World Greats Disciple Kenishi) is great, and some other cool guys for other anime like Ban make the game more interesting.But i would love if this game (or mabey his sequel) come to other console, because only handheld consoles have the best mash up fighting games from different anime series,like Jump ultimate superstars.
