Speaking Of Super Robot Taisen Games…

Atlus picked up Super Robot Taisen OG Saga: Endless Frontier. Yeah, you probably heard about this, but now it’s official and slated for a domestic release on April 28. The initial batch of games in North America will be in a premium box bundled with a soundtrack CD for $34.99.

One thing about Super Robot Taisen OG Saga: Endless Frontier is it has an action based combat system similar to Namco X Capcom with more juggling. Another thing about Super Robot Taisen OG Saga: Endless Frontier is its stuffed with sexual innuendo and boob jokes. Judging by the press release Atlus is intent on keeping them.

From the fantastic new battle system to the captivating story of alternate worlds and characters bursting at the seams with personality, there is plenty to discover and uncover (*ahem*) in this well-rounded adventure.

Super Robot Taisen OG Saga: Endless Frontier should be a hillarious localization interview. I hope we get a chance to do one…

    Is this okay to play If I have never played a Robot Taisen before

    • ReturnOfSomeDude

      Yeah, it’s a separate thing. Kind of like how Namco X Capcom has nothing to do with any of the games any of the characters are pulled from.

    • Yeah you’ll be fine. There are Namco X Capcom and Xenosaga characters in the game just in case you played those.

    premium box this, premium box that… Atlus is raping my wallet

  • squall

    While I’m happy that they are releasing this title, I still want SRT OG for PS2 !!!!

  • EvilAkito

    I’d say that probably more than half of my video games purchases over the past few years have been because of Atlus. I’m sure that I’ll end up picking this one up too because it combines hot anime girls with great-looking 2D sprite animation, and I’m shallow enough to hand over my debit card because of that.

    According to the e-mail, all of the games will come premium box style. Awesome! Also (quotes from the e-mail):

    “We like to keep you abreast of new developments…”
    “We’re practically bursting at the seams to reveal…”
    “… This is one stacked action RPG”

    Atlus I love you.

    Hey, the logos are covering all the goodies :) I really haven’t touched any Robot Taisen games since the Super Famicom days, but this one seems different. The 2-D sprite animation is definitely amazing, having KOS-MOS there is a plus. So is there any difference btwn this an the Jpn ver, I assume dialogue is only in English right?

    At any rate, this one is not for playing on the bus w/o attracting attention.

  • Day one. Too bad I’ll have to use Play-Asia…Atlus USA doesn’t ship their products outside of the U.S. No pre-order goodies / premium box for me. ;_;

    • ShadowYuri

      Why not ?
      Atlus A.R.A.M. said it well in its e-mail : EACH and EVERY launch copy comes within a premium box. I think Play-Asia should have it then. :)

      • You know, you might be right. If you search for the game on Play-Asia, the thumbnail shows all the goodies in that pic above. Unfortunately, clicking on the game itself takes you back to the front page at the moment. :(

        Great news if it’s true though! I was really disappointed when I found out I could never own the Persona 4 art book. I even wrote in to Atlus USA and they said they couldn’t do much to help.

          You should start using Video Games Plus:

          You’re always sure to get the preorder stuff, worked just fine for me with P4 and Eternal Poison.

        • I’ll vouch for Video Games Plus as well. They’re the first I go to when I want to import.

    Reiji and Xiaomu for the win.

  • pressstart

    This would have benefitted from having an artbook instead -_-;;;

    Still tempting though.

    I think I will bite!
    Been a bit curious about this game but kinda fearing the lengthy dragging boss battles.
    Don’t like the capitalizing much on boobs but either ways from the look of it Atlus can deliver a great localization.

    I don’t know why they didn’t keep the Japanese name for this game series. “Super Robot Wars” makes a whole lot more sense than “Super Robot Taisen”, what the heck is a “Taisen” anyways?

    I have Super Robot Wars Alpha for the Dreamcast, awesome game. Took a while to figure out the all Japanese menu commands were, but very fun game once I did. Definitely will have to pick up a copy of this when its released.
