After Four Years Magna Carta II Is Nearing Completion

After Four Years Magna Carta II Is Nearing Completion Believe it or not there is an RPG with a longer gap between its announcement and pending release than Final Fantasy XIII. Softmax announced they were working on Magna Carta II for the Xbox 360 way back in 2005, nine months before Square Enix officially lifted the curtain on Final Fantasy XIII.

The funny thing about Magna Carta II is we still haven’t seen a single screenshot or teaser trailer for the game yet. We’ll overlook that for now since Softmax finally gave an update about how it’s progressing. According to the developer Magna Carta II is “in its last stage of development” and yes it’s still an Xbox 360 exclusive. Still no word when it will come out, though. 2010? 2011? Delayed to become an Xbox 720 launch game for Korea?

what's so funny? you never know. things change. developers change, in good ways and in bad ways. korea (and maybe china) could become the next japan. japan's not the hotspot it once was.

side note: the west is getting all this praise for advancing faster than japanese in the game development department, yet, their software is still mediocre. it's all graphics and nothing more. but that's just my opinion.

  • Volcynika

    Manga Carta? :p

  • xHaseox

    Now THAT is funny.

Been waiting for this ! Hope they improve the gameplay and/or the loadings over the PS2 game. Aside from that it can be a great game !

Still Japanese companies profit wise are much better than ever even in 8 bit days while most western companies have amazing loses for the last three years, Japanese companies games sell without depending on advertising and costy viral advertising that western companies do alot these rises the sales but make huge looses because the products themselfs are not hits,
and about Korea South Korea economy size is the 14 world wide and the population which important for their local market as local markets are what made companies are 50 million people while Japan is the second economy world wide very far from Korea and Japanese population are 130 million, so at least in the coming 15 years or more there will be no change.
but this game could be good.

I always liked Hyung-tae Kim's designs. Can't wait to see what he has for Magna Carta II.

  • Volcynika

I'd buy that for a dollar!

whatever you say. laugh all you want. but you never know my friend, things do change.

i don't like western developers at all. i think their videogame software is mediocre. their getting way too much for doing nothing. an they keep over using a certain word. “innovation” show me some western innovation, but i don't see it.

    sorry for my bad english.

  • tina tuna

correction: their getting way too much praise for doing nothing.

  • Kijof
