Taito Brings Light Gun Games, Pogo Stick Racer To AOU 2009

edpGood old Taito is keeping the light gun genre going. We already heard about Elevator Action: Death Parade. Music Gun Gun, a rhythm/action shooting game, and Haunted Museum, a light gun game with a theater sized screen are new. No release date was given for any of these, but you can see them if you’re visiting AOU 2009 this week.

Taito will have Fantasy Colosseum, Señor Nippon, and Hopping Road – a pogo stick arcade game on display too.

Hopping Road absolutely screams “Balance Board.” I wouldn’t be afraid to bet on seeing a Wii port down the road if it catches on.

…But who cares about those other games that don’t have Elevator Action in the title!!

  • Señor Nippon… what exactly is it because the quirkiness caught my attention.

    • Good question. It’s being billed as a group party game with simple controls. The machine has four buttons and supports three players on one credit. Final machines are coming out in March so we should know more about it soon. Looks kind of like Konami’s Bishi Bashi series.

Taito’s name is always special to me, I love this kind of news.
