Watch Some PSP Persona Movies

By Spencer . February 18, 2009 . 10:55am

Persona for PSP may not be the full remake you were hoping for, but it still has some slick animated movies. Take a look at one of them.

There isn’t any voice acting in the video, but Atlus USA could add voices in. Square Enix did it with Final Fantasy Tactics: The Lion War. These other videos are character clips featuring the protagonist, Maki, and Masaso who prefers to go by the name Mark, just like he was called in North America.

I didn’t hear the original, but the new soundtrack sounds pretty good. Interesting how Shoji Meguro is both the Director as well as Composer, considering that he did not contribute to the first game (or the second games also [?]). I’ve quickly become a fan of his work, beginning with Digital Devil Saga, Nocturne, and most recently Personas 3&4. Good stuff!

So much for all those petty fears on the soundtrack being bastardized… I’ll dare say it’s at the top of the game.

seem’s good, but could be better

I want to do some sort of blackout on this, until release.

  • Odd how the speaker portraits appear in the middle of the textbox rather than the side. It’s kind of distracting!

  • I dont know about this… it lacks a lot of the style that the ps2 personas have. I’ll buy it still, but that doesnt mean i dont think its a quick cash-in on the persona franchise…

Oh to be young, and oh so very ignorant…

      • Thanks troll. i dont know how “young” you think i am, but i’m calling it as i see it.

And i’m not ignorant to ignore the fact that, yeah it’s basically a PS1 game dressed up in widescreen, like other lazy developers that decide its okay to have games ported to PSP, like say- Final Fantasy Tactics, Valkyrie Profile, Castlevania, Star Ocean… please stop me when if my “ignorance” gets to be too much for you.

New music is nice and all, but color me skeptical.

Um, could you explain to me how you’re a troll if you point out to someone that they don’t care about a series’ roots?

  • Too bad they didn’t decide to add some voice acting to this remake.

Music sounds fantastic as always, though.

  • The new soundtrack is awesome, way to go
