Whatever Happened To A Witch’s Tale?

By Spencer . February 20, 2009 . 9:30am

witcht Good question! When NIS America introduced A Witch’s Tale last summer their plan was to release it around Halloween… 2008. It’s 2009 and we haven’t seen anything new about Hit Maker’s Nintendo DS game.

A Witch’s Tale, however, has not been buried. An official site popped up in teaser mode. A full reveal is scheduled for next week, but the Japanese page in its skeletal form gives us a few details. The game will be known as A Witch’s Tale: The Seven Princesses and the Apprentice Witch in Japan. Also, it is on target to come out this year.

Since NIS America is lending a hand in the development process we should hear more about a domestic release in the future. Perhaps, we’ll see A Witch’s Tale in stores around Halloween 2009?

    • You mean Little Magician’s Magical Adventure from Konami? It’s coming here in May under a new name now.

I was snooping around Rosenqueen a few weeks ago and actually happened upon this: http://www.rosenqueen.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=279

I was glad to see a little sign that the game wasn’t dead, as I somehow doubt that NIS would have gone through the trouble of producing $300 a pop giclee prints for a canceled game and actually hope to sell them. Well, the art WAS nice whether or not there was going to be a game attached to it, but you get what I mean.

Yeah, like Spencer said, it’s still coming out. The new English title is “Magician’s Quest: Mysterious Times”. Also good to hear A Witch’s Tale is still around. Was wondering about that title.

EDIT: D’oh, this was supposed to be a reply to blueblazer64’s comment.

  • Glad to see it’s still around! It looked like an interesting prospect.
