Atlus Relaunching Persona On PSP This Fall

By Spencer . February 24, 2009 . 2:58pm

ppspThe PSP version of Shin Megami Tensei: Persona will arrive domestically this fall. Atlus is giving it a brand new localization and restoring “that which was not carried over the first time around”. Sounds like we’re going to get the Snow Queen quest.

Since Persona is getting an overhaul the extra quest isn’t the kind of thing Atlus would leave out. Changes specific to the remastered PSP version include animated cutscenes, widescreen support, and a revised city map. Out of all the new features the revised localization is the one I’m most looking forward too. Some voice acting for the silent animated videos might be nice too.

  • Awesome. Thank you Atlus!

  • Just fantastic news!

    Dammit! I need a PSP now :(

  • PAL Release?

    • Well Atlus doesn’t have a division in Europe so it will be up to another publisher like Koei, 505 Games, or Square Enix to pick it up. No one has announced it, but chances are you’ll probably get it, though.

      • Atlus seriously needs to open up Atlus EU.. Nippon Ichi will probably become successful enough to prove this is a working strategy..505 has sadly only released so-so titles and kids DS games lately :/ Battle Fantasia is all well and good but where are Culdcept Saga and the super niche titles?

Sounds good! Now how about a PS3 Persona?

Does “localization” also mean “Mark will become black for us again?”

I really hope they allow for the change of US and Japanese version, I <3 my PSOne persona localization!
At the very least he should appear and be like "WTF MAN?!?! THIS IS MY TURF!"
