Harvest Moon Gets WiiWare Farm Store Spinoff

By Spencer . March 6, 2009 . 6:29am

Harvest Moon Gets WiiWare Farm Store Spinoff Marvelous’ first WiiWare game won’t be their furtive project only known as Discipline. On April 29 Harvest Moon Series: Ranch Store will arrive on WiiWare in Japan. Take note of the “series” word in the title. This game doesn’t follow the standard formula of farming and getting married.

In Harvest Moon Series: Ranch Store you operate a store of your choice. Take your pick from stores like a soft ice cream stand , a juice bar with motion controlled mini-games or an Easter Egg decoration shop.  While the concept art looks like your typical Harvest Moon game Ranch Store has a new paper cutout style. Also, this will be a “premium” WiiWare game ringing in at 1,500 Wii Points ($15). In Japan the only other game to reach this price point was Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King. No price or release has been announced for North America, but we’re confident Natsume will take care of this.

What they need to do is tie this into the main Harvest Moon line or Rune Factory Frontier by allowing you to buy stuff from the shops people set up online. If that option isn’t available, I don’t even see the point of this.

I agree that it would be wonderful for this to tie into a future Wii Harvest Moon game.

But even if it doesn’t, I’m still in. I’m a sucker for shop management games.
