Valcon Games Bringing Us Raiden Fighters Aces

By Spencer . March 6, 2009 . 10:02am

rfa Zoo Games isn’t publishing Raiden Fighters Aces here. Like we suspected earlier Valcon Games is taking care of it. Before snapping up the rights to Raiden Fighters Aces Valcon Games and Japanese publisher Success struck a deal for Shepherd’s Crossing.

The funny thing is Valcon still hasn’t said anything official about Raiden Fighters Aces. The box art clearly has their logo on it and the ESRB rated the game listing Valcon as the publisher. Signs point to a domestic release. All we need now is a concrete release date for the trio of Raiden Fighters Aces games.

Seeing Valcon publish Raiden Fighters Aces is great news. Not just because it’s Raiden Fighters Aces, but this could mean Microsoft is getting more lax when it comes to approving 2D shmups. Remember Castle of Shikigami III was a Wii exclusive here while Japan also saw it on the Xbox 360. Hopefully, 5pb will be able to make a Cave arcade compilation and G.Rev’s Mamoru-kun wa Norowarete Shimatta will get released overseas too.

  • Valcon hasn’t updated their site since last September, so no official word on when this will be out or whatever happened to Shining Dragon.

    • They also erased all of my message board posts asking for Shining Dragon information.

    • I sent them an e-mail about this and Shining Dragon, but haven’t heard back from them. Shining Dragon looks pretty toast though.

      • They’re really bad about answering emails. Just as bad as UFO.

I’ll be snapping up this one asap. I think I remember hearing a March 3rd date, but that obviously hasn’t happened. :/

G.Rev should bundle all their Naomi shooters for a western release. I know quite a few people who couldn’t say no to Border Down or Under Defeat individually, let alone bundled. A “Treasure Box” bundle with Ikaruga, Bangai-O and RS would be an easy sell too.

I will buy this without hesitation. This is very good news.

So what do you guys think the price will be? Certainly they won’t try to go the $59.99 route after what happened to Senko No Ronde.

    • jarrodand

$29.99 according to amazon. April 7th date too, let’s hope it sticks…

The website is about to receive a pile of updates as well… apologies for the tardiness.
