Watch Out For Black Knights And Slime Towers In Dragon Quest IX

Square Enix sent out a batch of new Dragon Quest IX screenshots focusing on the game’s monsters. One of them is the lesser cousin of the King Slime, the Slime Tower. When three slimes join forces they transform to a wobbly mesh of multicolored goo.

Oh no! A deadly Slime Shower attack!

Haniwa Knights are an amalgamation of a horse and a clay knight statue used as a sacrificial offering for a king. Since the Haniwa Knight is made out of two monsters it has two kinds of attacks. The knight can toss a lasso and the horse breathes fire on the party.

Dorozaraas are creatures made of sand. When you slay one sand blasts in the air blinding your party similar to the dazzle effect in the localized Dragon Quest DS games.

The Gama Cannon is a frog artillery that shoots scud missiles and mucus shells out of the two cannons on its back. Also on our radar is a mysterious Black Knight. Unlike the other monsters the Black Knight looks like a powerful foe and part of the story since he directly confronts the hero.
