Looks like DSiWare apps are coming in more than once a month now since Nintendo has a new line up of software scheduled to come out on April 1.

One of the more creative applications is the Photo Stand Band Brothers Radio DX. For 500 DSiWare points ($5) you can stream music based from the user created tunes from Band Brothers DX. The application has a variety of stations like this week’s top ten, hot songs from a single artist, hello newcomer for new music tracks, a hip hop station, and even a video game music station. Barbara the Bat acts as an announcer so it’s almost like having access to a real radio station. While you’re listening to music you can display your photos which explains the “Photo Stand” part in the title.

You can make boxes or irregular shapes. As long as one color captures the other you clear pieces. This is tricky to explain so check out this gameplay video.

the budgeting software looks interesting, but it's not enticing enough :(

Band Bros. Radio is pretty cool, but we'll never see the series make it here unfortunately.

The other apps are pretty lame. Hey Nintendo, where's my Virtual Game Boy?

Well I don't care about this coming here as I don't care about Brintney Spears and such, am really excited to get the Japanese version the moment it released.
  • Holy shit, that's like a DS radio service. I'm very interested in this.

How exactly is it going to work? Will the user be tethered to a wireless connection in order to stream? Seems pretty useless if that's the case. Even if it downloads and caches the music to your DSi or SD Card, what's stopping you from just listening to your own music? Same can be said of those novelty clocks, but they are more like skins than anything. Skins that probably restrict you from doing anything else.

No a DS radio service is more like the one you can get via homebrew on the Wii. Now you just have to get them to play something good. Still it is for sure the most impressive of the lineup shown, not that I really would call it all that impressive.

I guess having such limited storage makes creating compelling games for the service that exploit what the system can do difficult.

Seriously, a clock? I have one of those on my cellphone.

A tool to tell if somebody likes you? If you are that paranoid, you need help, not a DSi.

Seriously, I want to see something that shows me what the DSi can do. All of these products could easily have been done on the original DS. Show me something that uses the system's extra horsepower. Give a reason to want one Nintendo, because so far, not even close.
