Button mashing demon catching is out. Demon negotiation back in style. Like the core Shin Megami Tensei series you need a silver tongue to get demons to join you in Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner 2: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. King Abaddon.

 

During battles you can speak with demons by selecting the negotiate command. Tell them what your opponents want to hear and they may jump in one of your vials or offer an item. While you’re in the heat of battle demons may interrupt combat with requests of their own like begging for mercy. Don’t drop your guard too quickly. Even if a demon pleads for you to spare its life it could be a trap.

 

Atlus explains combat in Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner 2: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. King Abaddon has been enhanced by giving Raidou a dodge roll for quick escapes, two demons, and many more demon types.
